RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: Indonesian Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, said that the "Indonesian Cultural Outlook 2026" seeks to promote partnership and collaborations with governmental organizations around the world.
"In line with our constitutional mandate to promote Indonesian national culture amidst global civilization, this will foster cooperation, partnerships, and collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and our partners worldwide," he said during the Indonesian Cultural Outlook 2026 event in Jakarta, Monday, January 19, 2026, as quoted by
Antara. As UN Secretary-General António Guterres has observed, he said that the world is now going through turmoil. According to Fadli, culture may provide a collective solution for addressing world challenges. "Even though politics can sometimes divide, culture generally unites," he said.
By inviting about 60 nations, he expressed his hope to promote collaboration in the cultural industry, particularly in the areas of cultural heritage and museum collection development, as well as in the development and enhancement of human resources.
The realization of current potential collaborations will be made possible by future cultural cooperation and collaboration, which are expected to promote networking. The ministry also organized international events last year, like the Indonesia-Pasific Cultural Synergy (IPACS) and Culture, Herritage, Arts, Narratives, Diplomacy and Innovations (CHANDI) Summit.
During the event, Minister Fadli Zon presented Indonesia's rich historical and cultural heritage, describing it as megadiversity. This includes 313 national cultural heritage sites, six UNESCO-recognized world cultural heritage sites, 2,727 intangible cultural heritage sites, 1,250 preserved cultural assets, and 53,243 museums and cultural reserves.
The Minister added that, by 2026, the ministry will prioritize managing this diversity by providing stronger protection, broader access, and enhanced skills for cultural communities and creators.
The ministry will also focus on developing a culture-based economy, improving cultural infrastructure, and consolidating cultural representation internationally.
"Therefore, I invite you to join us in a stronger collaboration in 2026. I believe that if we align our resources, expertise, and networks, we can achieve the desired results," he concluded. ***
