RRI.CO.ID, Banyumas – Rising floodwaters submerging several rail tracks have forced State-owned Railways Company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) to implement further cancellations and operational modifications through Monday, January 19, 2026. These disruptions significantly affect routes connected to the Operational Area 5 Purwokerto regional office.
M. As’ad Habibuddin, Public Relations Manager for KAI Operational Area 5 Purwokerto, conveyed that the company is conducting continuous intensive monitoring. These efforts include comprehensive technical inspections to guarantee the safety and security of all rail journeys.
"This anticipatory measure is an effort to safeguard both our customers and rail operations, as our field officers continue to monitor track conditions in real-time," explained As’ad.
Based on the latest operational evaluation for Monday’s departures, KAI Operational Area 5 Purwokerto has canceled the following services: KA Kamandaka (Train Nos. 181, 194, 197): Semarang Tawang – Purwokerto/Cilacap (Round Trip) and KA Purwojaya (Train Nos. 50F, 53F, 58F, 57F): Gambir – Cilacap (Round Trip)

As’ad emphasized that KAI has prepared service recovery measures for affected passengers as part of its service accountability. KAI Operational Area 5 Purwokerto also issued a formal apology for the inconvenience caused by these extreme weather conditions.
Affected passengers are entitled to a 100% ticket refund under the following terms: Refunds must be processed no later than seven (7) days after the scheduled departure date, passengers who choose not to proceed with their journey due to route diversions, operational changes, or delays are entitled to a full refund, including for connecting or return tickets.
